Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I cannot attend the ceremony but would love to attend the dinner reception. Is that possible?
A: Of course. We know that setting aside an entire day is not always possible. If you’re unable to attend the ceremony but would still like to join us for dinner, you are very welcome at the reception. The only exception is for members of the immediate family and wedding party, who will be attending the full day’s events.

Q: It looks like dinner is in Minneapolis—isn’t Minneapolis dangerous?
A: Our reception will be held in a lovely and well-established part of the city, and the restaurant provides a convenient surface parking lot directly across the street. As with any large city, it’s always wise to take simple precautions—lock your vehicle and avoid leaving valuables inside. Parking at Jax Café is complimentary for our guests.

Do not visit locations in North and South Minneapolis and that includes staying away from the Lake Street and Uptown areas.

Q: I’d love to stay in downtown Minneapolis. There must be so much to do!
A: There isn’t. There is absolutely nothing to do unless you are attending a ball game at Target Field in June. There are no retailers left downtown except for a Target store (which you already have in your hometown) and nothing family friendly. All restaurants in the skyway area are typically only open on the weekdays and close at 2:00pm. Plus you will have to pay to park your vehicle. We suggest staying at a hotel outside of Minneapolis but if you really prefer downtown, we have a few options listed on the Hotel page.

Q: Is there a dress code for the wedding?
A: We kindly ask guests to dress in their Sunday best. Dress slacks with a collared shirt are perfect, and a sport coat would be wonderful. To keep the occasion feeling special, we ask that guests avoid jeans, shorts, t-shirts, or sandals. It’s a joyful and meaningful day for us, and we’re excited to celebrate it with everyone looking their best.

Q: What is the best way to get to the church or the restaurant?
A: At the bottom of both the Ceremony and Dinner pages, you’ll find embedded Google Maps. Simply tap or click the map to open directions on your phone for easy navigation to each location.

Q: Did you register for gifts?
A: We did not create a registry. Truly, the greatest gift to us is simply having you there to celebrate this special day together.

That said… if someone were to arrive with a tiny white puppy—perhaps a sweet little female Coton de Tulear or Maltese—we would happily accept the generous gift!

Q: Will there be dancing and the traditional wedding festivities?
A: No dance floor this time. We’ve chosen to keep the evening simple and intimate—just a lovely dinner shared with close friends and family, good conversation, and time together around the table.

Q: Can children attend the wedding?
A: We love your little ones—we really do. But for this celebration, we’re keeping things mostly grown-up. A handful of family children will be joining us, and we kindly ask that children attend only if your invitation specifically includes their name. Family members are warmly welcome to bring their older children or adult children to celebrate with us. If your invitation reads “and guest,” consider it an open seat for an adult companion.

Q: Will there be a photographer, and can guests take photos during the ceremony?
A: Yes! A professional photographer will capture the ceremony. To allow everyone to fully experience the moment, we ask that guests refrain from taking their own photos during the ceremony.

Q: Will the ceremony or reception be outdoors, and should we plan for weather?
A: Both the ceremony and the reception will be held indoors, so you can leave your umbrellas and sun hats at home.

Q: Is alcohol served at the reception?
A: Yes! An open bar will be available, offering both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for everyone to enjoy.

Q: Who can I contact if I have a question not listed here?
A: Please email Michel at helpmn@gmail.com with any questions.
